With more than 28 years of recruitment and labour hire experience, including 14 years supporting the Western Australian mining industry, I have seen firsthand the challenges that come with building safe, capable and reliable workforces.
One thing became clear early in my career: resumes and interviews alone do not prove capability. Yet too often, critical hiring decisions are made based on assumptions rather than evidence. When I joined Premier People, what stood out immediately was the vision to challenge that approach and create something different.
From the beginning, our goal has been to raise the standard for recruitment and labour hire by focusing not only on attitude and experience, but on demonstrated capability. We believe attitude comes first, respect is non-negotiable, and capability should be proven, not assumed.
That belief drives everything we do. It is why we have invested in the facilities, tools and equipment needed to assess, develop and verify practical skills in a real-world environment. By gaining a deeper understanding of the people we place, we can help ensure they are genuinely prepared for the work they will perform, creating better outcomes for both our clients and candidates.
